Regarded as one of the greatest wine regions of the world, Bordeaux, France is home to many of the varietals that we've come to love. From lush, powerful reds of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to zippy, crisp whites of Sauvignon Blanc, Bordeaux has influenced winemakers the world over. The wines are in high demand, expensive(with some examples selling for $1200) and are usually are long-lived. If you're a fan of wines of power and structure, then this class is not to be missed!
In this class, you will taste and analyze three wines made from three different sections of Bordeaux (Médoc, Pessac-Léognan, Entre-Deux-Mers) all while learning how history has shaped the region as we now know it. We will discuss the effects of climate, soil and vinification to understand what makes each wine so unique while at the same time, becoming better tasters!
As usual with Drink Democracy LLC classes, this course will be highly instructional and hands-on and students are expected to come prepared to learn and with questions. Our courses are geared towards the more serious wine drinker or those that wish to become one.
* The ticket price will include three pours of different styles of white and red wines and light snacks. Students should already be familiar with the deductive tasting method as we will spend very little time reviewing it
